Danish red mailbox
26 Sept 2014 | From Maria of Denmark
OFFICIAL POSTCROSSING
I've received two postcards from two Marias today. One if from Russia, and this one is from Maria of Denmark. She sent me a postcard of a red mailbox typically found in the doors or walls of houses in Denmark. 'Postkasse' is Danish for mailbox. These postkasse are conveniently located in houses and are beautifully painted with a striking red color. Typically they are made of steel to resist wear and damage and decorated with door trim and aged-brass knob.
Maria likened the mailbox to a person in sense that you do not know what's inside of them. It is all a secret. You only get to know what's inside when you open it, and more often than not, you might be surprised with what you'll find inside.
