My first stamped postcard from Belize

The Great Blue Hole
4 Jul 2014 | From Lando of Mexico
POSTCROSSING FRIEND | POSTCARD SENT FROM BELIZE

Lando took a trip to Belize, a country on the northeastern coast of Central America, and sent me this wonderful postcard. Belize is bordered by Mexico on the North so it's easy for him to visit. Belize is considered a Central American and Caribbean nation with strong ties to the entire Latin American and Caribbean region.

The Great Blue Hole is a large submarine sinkhole off the coast of Belize. It is the largest sea hole in the world. The Great Blue Hole is a world-class destination for scuba divers for the chance to swim through translucent seas, gaze at a diverse marine life, explore underwater caves and walls, or just be captivated by its natural beauty.

Belize is a country in Central America bordering the Caribbean Sea. It is the only country in the area that has English as its official language; an English creole (Kriol) and Spanish are also commonly spoken.

Belize's abundance of terrestrial and marine species and its diversity of ecosystems give it a key place in the globally significant Mesoamerican Biological Corridor. Belize has a diverse society, with many cultures and languages. Originally part of the British Empire, it shares a common colonial history with other Anglophone Caribbean countries. From 1862 to 1973, its name was British Honduras. It became an independent Commonwealth realm in 1981, retaining Queen Elizabeth II as head of state.

In general, Belize is considered a Central American and Caribbean nation with strong ties to the entire Latin American and Caribbean region.

Belize is known for its September Celebrations, and is the birthplace of chewing gum and Punta music.
