Ireland is one of Sue's favourite destinations. She adores the beautiful scenery, ancient sites, and the friendly Irish people. She spent yet another vacation in Ireland and sent me this lovely postcard as souvenir. She sent me two postcards from Guernsey before so I was pleasantly surprised with this one. Though for a moment I was thinking if I have made my part of our previous swap :p

Ireland is an island in the North Atlantic to the west of Great Britain, from which it is separated by the North Channel, the Irish Sea, and St Georges Channel, and after which it is the largest island of the British Isles archipelago. It is the third-largest island in Europe and the twentieth-largest island on Earth.

Ireland is blessed with timeless, age-caressed landscape, dramatic scenery, striking cities, beautiful castles, mesmerizing UNESCO World Heritage sites, cute-as-a-button villages, and a fascinating, friendly people. Some of the most beautiful places in Ireland are the Cliffs of Moher; the magnificent UNESCO World Heritage Skellig Islands; Northern Ireland's only UNESCO World Heritage-listed site, the Giant's Causeway; Ireland's most scenic tourist trail, the Ring of Kerry; Glenveagh National Park, Ireland's second largest National Park; The Burren; Connemara National Park; Glendalough, or the 'Valley of Two Lakes'; and the remote Cooley Peninsula.

Any view from Ireland can be beautifully turned into a photograph or be translated into art.

St. James's Gate Brewery is a brewery founded in 1759 in Dublin, Ireland, by Arthur Guinness. The company is now a part of Diageo, a company formed from the merger of Guinness and Grand Metropolitan in 1997. The main product of the brewery is Guinness Draught.

Dublin is the capital and most populous city of Ireland. The English name for the city is derived from the Irish name Dubhlinn, meaning "black pool". Dublin is situated in the province of Leinster near the midpoint of Ireland's east coast, at the mouth of the River Liffey and the centre of the Dublin Region.

Founded as a Viking settlement, it evolved into the Kingdom of Dublin and became the island's principal city following the Norman invasion.

This is my first Irish postcard. It was sent from Germany though.

Ireland is full of old, authentic pubs. There's nothing quite like an old-fashioned Irish pub, a pint of plain, a glass of “Uisce Beatha” or just a place to rest your weary bones and soak up the atmosphere.
