Souq Waqif is an important souq in Doha, in the state of Qatar. Literally translated to "the standing market," this shopping destination is renowned for selling traditional garments, spices, handicrafts, and souvenirs.

A souq or souk is an open-air marketplace or commercial quarter in Middle Eastern and North African cities.

Kristine is a friend and former classmate from elementary to high school. She now works in Qatar as a nurse. We oftentimes chat in Facebook, then I realized I haven't received any postcard from Qatar yet. I told her about my postcard collection, and she happily agreed to send me some :) This is one of the postcards she sent me.

Qatar is a sovereign Arab emirate, located in Western Asia. It is an absolute monarchy that has been ruled by the Al Thani family since the mid-19th century. Qatar has the world's third largest natural gas reserves and oil reserves. Doha is its capital and largest city.
