Reasons to Believe

More ways to say 'friend'
24 Nov 2014 | From Michael of UK
OFFICIAL POSTCROSSING

A friend, as defined by Merriam-Webster, is a person who you like and enjoy being with - a person whom one knows well, likes, and trusts. amigo, chum, confidant, confidante, mate, pal, bud, buddy,  companion, pal, partner, china (British & South Africa, informal), crony, playmate, main man (slang, mainly US), homeboy (slang, mainly US), cobber (Australian & New Zealand), cuzzie or cuzzie-bro (New Zealand), E hoa (New Zealand, old-fashioned & informal) - all and possibly more may be referred to as friend. In the Philippines, the Filipino equivalent for friend is 'kaibigan'. In Pampango, a local Philippine language I speak, a friend is 'kaluguran'. In Japanese, a language I am keen on learning, a friend is translated as '友達' (ともだち, tomodachi). And in German, a language I hear a lot from a friend, it is 'freund'.

There's more ways to say friend, pal or buddy than enemy. This is one of the million reasons to believe in a better world. "Reasons to Believe" is a global campaign to celebrate 125 years of Coca Cola’s existence. It was inspired by an investigation conducted by The Coca-Cola Company globally, to see how strong our reasons to believe in a better world really are. The results of the research were both astonishing and touching and have thus resulted in a local campaign focused on inspiring optimism and encouraging positive action.

"This campaign takes us back to the heartland of what our brand has always stood for – talking to people on an emotional level about topics that are relevant to them and spreading happiness and optimism", explained Bríd Drohan-Stewart, marketing activation director, Coca‑Cola Great Britain and Ireland. Coca‑Cola as a brand has never been afraid to speak its mind and has an authentic cultural depth across the world - everyone in some way has a nostalgic connection with the brand, evoking happy memories.

Coca-cola Light: Delightful - third postcard

Strip light
24 Nov 2014 | From Massimo of Italy
POSTCROSSING FRIEND

Diet Coke, the first version of Coca-Cola without sugar, was launched in 1982 with the advertising slogan "Just for the taste of it!" It instantly became the largest-selling low-calorie soft drink in America. Some countries began using the term "Coca-Cola Light" as early as the 1990s, with others adopting the name later on, while others continue the use of "Diet Coke".

Diet Coke was sweetened with aspartame, an artificial sweetener, after the sweetener became available in the United States in 1983. In other countries in which cyclamates are not banned, Diet Coke or Coca-Cola Light may be sweetened with a blend containing cyclamates, aspartame, and acesulfame potassium.

In the postcard is a man enjoying a Coca-cola Light and a strip-tease at the same time. I just hope that he won't enjoy that bottle of Coke more than the show in front of him... or else there will be trouble :p

Coca-cola Light: Delightful - second postcard

Night light
24 Nov 2014 | From Massimo of Italy
POSTCROSSING FRIEND

Diet Coke, also known as Coca-Cola light, is a sugar- and calorie-free soft drink with a deliciously crisp taste that gives you a light boost in your busy day.  It was introduced in the United States on August 9, 1982, as the first new brand since 1886 to use the Coca-Cola trademark. The product quickly overtook the company's existing diet cola, Tab, in sales.

Adding a new meaning to drink-and-drive, enjoy a bottle of Coca-cola Light during your night drives with your friends. Keep the night light and fun :)

This postcard shows a happy Italian couple enjoying their bottle of Coca-cola, I suppose in a club, theatre, or cinema. Coca-cola can definitely be enjoyed everywhere :)

Coca-Cola has always relied in advertising to promote and market their brand, and this is why they are always on top of their game, after having been in the market for more than a century. Coca-Cola advertising during the early 1900′s relied on young women as their spokespersons. The first spokesperson of Coca Cola is model Hilda Clark.
