Crete is the largest and most populous of the Greek islands, and the fifth-largest island in the Mediterranean Sea. It was once the center of the Minoan civilization (circa 2700–1420 BC), which is currently regarded as the earliest recorded civilization in Europe.

Crete is among the finest islands in the world and has established itself as one of Europe's most popular holiday destinations. It is an island with an exquisite 1,000 kilometer-long coastline dotted with numerous coves, bays and peninsulas, mountainscapes, and blessed with glorious beaches along the beautifully blue Mediterranean Sea.
