Mozambique, officially the Republic of Mozambique (Portuguese: Moçambique or República de Moçambique), is a country in Southeast Africa. Its capital and largest city is Maputo. Mozambique is endowed with rich and extensive natural resources. The country's tourism sector is also growing. It is one of Africa’s up-and-coming hot-spots, with stunning beaches, excellent diving and magical offshore islands.

About the postcard, Bazaruto Archipelago is one of Mozambique's foremost marine biodiversity locations as well as an attractive tourist destination. It is located in the south of the country. It is a group of six islands in Mozambique, near the mainland city of Vilankulo. It comprises the islands of Bazaruto, Benguerra, Magaruque, Banque, Santa Carolina (also known as Paradise Island) and Shell.

Luis describes the picture in the postcard as something between art and anthropology.
