The Hula of Hawaii
31 Mar 2014 | From Precious Mia of Hawaii, USA
The postcard shows an illustration of Hawaiian kids dancing the Hula - a uniquely Hawaiian dance accompanied by chant or song that preserves and perpetuates the stories, traditions and culture of Hawaii. Traditional female dancers wore the everyday pāʻū, or wrapped skirt. Traditional male dancers wore the everyday malo, or loincloth.
