The 2014 Winter Olympics, officially known as the XXII Olympic Winter Games , were a major international multi-sport event held in Sochi, Russia, in the tradition of the Winter Olympic Games.
The 2014 Olympic Winter Games were the first time that the Russian Federation hosts the Winter Games; the Soviet Union hosted the 1980 Summer Games in Moscow. The host city Sochi has a population of 400,000 people and is situated in Krasnodar, which is the third largest region in Russia.
Michael Christian Martinez is the only athlete to represent the our country in this sporting event. He is the first skater from Southeast Asia and figure skater from the tropical zone to qualify for the Olympics.
About the postcard and stamp, snowboarding is a winter sport that involves descending a slope that is covered with snow while standing on a snowboard, a board attached to a rider's feet, using a special boot set into a mounted binding.
