The card shows an image of old Shanghai, the largest Chinese city by population and a renowned international metropolis. The woman in the postcard is wearing a "cheongsam", a body-hugging one-piece Chinese dress for women.
Hsiang-Ling also shared that the woman is Zhai Ai Ling, a famous female writer in China. She also translated the words in the card: "Your words, I want to hear but not understand. My silence - you would like to see but can't understand.
