This is the first postcard that I got from a swap request from Germany - the country with the most Postcrossing members. The swap was from Facebook-Postcrossing page though :p
La Plage a Sainte-Adresse, or The Beach at Sainte-Adresse, is a painting by French impressionist painter, Oscar-Claude Monet.
Oscar-Claude Monet (1840-1926) is a famous French painter and one of the founders of the Impressionism movement along with his friends Renoir, Sisley and Bazille. The term "Impressionism" is derived from the title of his painting Impression, soleil levant (Impression, Sunrise), which was exhibited in 1874 in the first of the independent exhibitions mounted by Monet and his associates as an alternative to the Salon de Paris.
