Lichen Old is a small town in Wielkopolska province, in central Poland. Sanctuary located there is one of the greatest Marian shrines in Poland, visited annually by about 1.5 million pilgrims and tourists.
The central part of the Sanctuary contains the concrete and stone Mount of Golgotha. There is a very folk style of presenting the Way of the Cross with colorful grottos, sculptures, written votives on walls, a great deal of colorful glass work and a lot of folksy kitsch.
