Chiel Lemee (Chris Brown) 1903~1956, Yosemite National Park, California:
Chris Brown, a Yosemite Miwok Indian, entertained thousands of Yosemite visitors with his demonstrations of ceremonial dances. He worked for the National Park service for over 27 years as a cultural demonstrator at the Yosemite Museum. His knowledge of Miwok culture was extensive and he produced many traditional Miwok items for Yosemite visitors. Here, Chief Lemee is wearing a flicker feather headband and is standing on a Miwok foot drum.
