The Oak Tree by Jean Macalpine

OFFICIAL POSTCROSSING

Jean wrote that she can imagine me sitting under this tree, deep in my own thoughts.

Jean is 64 and a mother of one son. She worked in London for 37 years but now retired and have moved back to my home town of Southport. It is a seaside town, 20 miles north of Liverpool which is on the North West coast of England.

About the artist: Jean Macalpine’s photographs are a testament to her Fine Art training. She has always been interested in landscape. In her recent abstract work she evokes the moods and memories of landscape, photographing marks and textures on a flat surface, then transmuting them with colour which creates the feeling of form and space.
