Taking a Break from Salt Collection

Salar de Uyuni
30 May 2013 | From Magdalena Kuranda of Poland
POSTCROSSING SWAP | POSTCARD SENT FROM BOLIVIA

Magdalena sent me my first postcard from Bolivia. She is Polish, but is staying in Bolivia for a while for some missionary work.

Bolivia, officially known as the Plurinational State of Bolivia, is a landlocked country located in central South America. It is bordered by Brazil to the north and east, Paraguay and Argentina to the south, Chile to the southwest, and Peru to the west.

Salar de Uyuni (or Salar de Tunupa) is the world's largest salt flat at 10,582 square kilometers (4,086 sq mi). It is located in the Potosí and Oruro departments in southwest Bolivia, near the crest of the Andes and is at an elevation of 3,656 meters (11,995 ft) above mean sea level.
