Sights and scenes of Poland

Ciechocinek and Bydgoszcz
30 May, 2013 | From Grzegorz Szafranski of Poland

Grzegorz sent me these two beautiful postcards showing the beautiful sights of Ciechocinek and Bydgoszcz

Ciechocinek is a spa town in Kuyavian-Pomeranian Voivodeship, Poland, located on the Vistula River about 10 kilometres (6.2 mi) east of Aleksandrów Kujawski and 20 kilometres (12 mi) south-east of the city of Toruń. Ciechocinek is known for its unique[clarification needed] 'saline graduation towers'. Experts have considered the local saline springs to be of extreme value and named the thermal spring no. 14 "a wonder of nature".

Bydgoszcz  is a city located in northern Poland, on the Brda and Vistula rivers. It is the 8th-largest city in Poland. It has been the seat of Bydgoszcz County and the co-capital, with Toruń, of the Kuyavian-Pomeranian Voivodeship since 1999. Grzegorz added that Bydgoszcz is Torun's rival in being the most importnat city in the region-Kuyavia.
