Latvian Language 101
6 Sept, 2013 | From Edgars Sarmulis of Latvia
Latvian is the official state language of Latvia. It is also sometimes referred to as Lettish. Latvian is a Baltic language and is most closely related to Lithuanian, although the two are not mutually intelligible. Latvian first appeared in Western print in the mid-16th century.
The card shows some of the common words and phrases in Latvian language with English translation. Edgars also shared that he has been to the Philippines before with his friends, and that he cannot forget the beautiful islands he has been to and the warm hospitality of the people.
