Kuwait, officially the State of Kuwait Listeni, is an Arab country in Western Asia. Situated in the northeastern edge of the Arabian peninsula at the tip of the Persian Gulf, it shares borders with Iraq to the north and Saudi Arabia to the south. The name "Kuwait" is the diminutive of Arabic كوت kūt, meaning "fortress"
The Kuwait Stock Exchange (KSE) is the national stock market of Kuwait which was founded in 1983. The stock market in Kuwait is regulated by four bodies: the KSE, the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, the Ministry of Finance and the Central Bank of Kuwait. The KSE is also among the first and largest stock exchanges in the Persian Gulf region, and has gaining prominence as one of the most potentially important in the world.
